Health Care

Health Care in the Upper Kanawha Valley:

At the heart of the valley is Montgomery General Hospital (MGH), a 25-bed, nonprofit, critical access hospital located in downtown Montgomery, West Virginia.  The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services, as well swing beds (short term rehabilitation beds), targeted short term rehabilitation services in our Extended Care Unit and Elderly Care Center, and long term care services.

As health care continues to evolve and change, we are committed to maintaining a solid base for our patients in the area of primary care (family medicine, pediatrics, and geriatric care).  Our hospital offers a wide range of services on site to promote overall wellness for our patient, including:

Radiology services (that includes on-site radiologists and Open MRI services)
Physical, occupational, and speech therapies
Laboratory services
Respiratory services
Sleep lab

Specialty providers that provide outpatient and inpatient services at MGH include:

General surgery
Obstetrics and gynecology
Diabetes management and education
General surgery
Wound care (staffed by surgeons)

Additionally, Montgomery General offers Emergency Services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The Emergency Department is staffed by physicians employed by MGH and not contracted through a management company.
