Virginia’s Chapel, also known as the Little Brick Church, is a church built in 1853 by entrepreneur William Tompkins. The church, constructed of red bricks made on-site, remains standing but is only used periodically for special services. Virginia’s Chapel is on the National Register of Historic Places.  Also on the National Register of Historic Places and located in Cedar Grove is Tompkins’ home, built in 1844. Cedar Grove is named for juniper trees that founding residents mistook for cedars.
